Global telecommunications operator and IT services company Orange Business Services has appointed Dr Helmut Reisinger as CEO.

According to the firm, Reisinger will take over from Thierry Bonhomme, who will become special advisor to the chairman and CEO of Orange prior to his retirement later this year.

As CEO, Reisinger has been tasked with directing the company's strategy to support the digital transformation of enterprise customers in France and around the world.

Orange Business Services, which is the business-to-business branch of the bigger Orange Group, focuses on supporting the digital transformation of multinational enterprises.

Most recently, Reisinger held the position of executive vice-president of international at Orange Business Services, in charge of all international enterprise business activities outside of France. He also previously served as senior vice-president of Europe.

Prior to joining Orange in 2007, Reisinger held management positions across Europe at Avaya, NextiraOne Germany and Alcatel Austria.

Reisinger is a graduate of Vienna University for Economics and Business Administration (WU Wien), the European CEMS Master's Programme at WU Wien with terms at Hochschule St Gallen (Switzerland) and ESCCA Angers (France).

"I am honoured and excited to lead the company on its ambition to be at the forefront of the data-driven economy," says Reisinger.

"I believe our global talent, expertise and assets position us to deliver an unmatched experience for our enterprise customers worldwide. With a relentless customer focus, combined with people empowerment and commitment to innovation, I am confident we will achieve continued success and growth for both our customers and the company."

The move is part of bigger strategy to create a more diversified and international executive committee within Orange, as it accelerates its global multi-services operator strategy.

In March, St'ephane Richard, president and CEO of the Orange Group, appointed Alioune Ndiaye, former director-general of subsidiary Sonatel, as CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa.

He was tasked with pursuing the group's growth on the continent and its development towards new digital services in mobile banking, energy and content.

Bruno Mettling was appointed as non-executive chairman.

"The objective is to integrate in the composition of the executive committee one-third of executives from Africa and the Middle East before the end of the first half of the year," the company notes.
