Elvin de Kock, recently appointed CEO of technology group Etion, has resigned due to ill health.
Three months after replacing Teddy Daka with De Kock, Etion announced to shareholders yesterday that the new CEO has “resigned due to health reasons with effect from 31 May 2021”.
De Kock will, however, remain on the board of directors of Etion as a non-executive director.
The company named Richard Willis, a non-executive director, as acting group CEO with effect from 1 June, and he will “oversee the completion of the disposal process as detailed in the cautionary announcements dated 28 October 2020, 9 December 2020 and 25 January 2021”.
De Kock previously served the company as chief financial officer but was elevated to the top officer position after the resignation of Daka.
Daka resigned in November but his executive role with Etion ended last month when his departure became official, assuming the role of chairman of the JSE-listed diversified technology group.
The former CEO has since joined engineering firm Zutari as co-CEO together with current CEO Dr Gustav Rohde.
