Software and technology group Dynamic Technologies has acquired a 51% shareholding in cloud solutions firm DotModus for an undisclosed amount.

DotModus is a data analytics integration company that deals with machine learning, containerisation, app development and infrastructure.

The business was started in 2010 by brothers, Thomas and Alon Fowler.

"The acquisition by Dynamic Technologies will help us build on the quality of our products and service, while the infrastructure of the Dynamic Technologies group will assist us in acquiring and retaining talent as the business expands," says Thomas Fowler, MD of DotModus.

The company is an official premier partner for Google Cloud, providing cloud and integrated big data solutions.

DotModus employs more than 50 software engineers, data engineers and data scientists, many of which are Google Cloud-certified data engineers and cloud architects, the company says.

"Dynamic Technologies has an infrastructure that complements our own, giving us access to shared resources that will enable DotModus to continue to focus on its core business while increasing our market share," says Fowler.

He points out the company's strategic direction includes increasing its footprint into the UK, Europe and the East Coast of the US.

Dynamic Technologies evolved out of original company DVT, which was founded in 1999 by current group CEO Chris Wilkins.

With over 1 000 staff and offices in the UK, SA and Kenya, Dynamic Technologies comprises 10 group companies, namely DVT (which includes the DVT Academy), Cloudsmiths, DotModus, EventSmiths, Swarm, Blue Pencil Consulting, Inspired Testing, Emerald Consulting, Dynamic DNA and DTH Services.

"DotModus brings another layer of technical prowess to the group, with their core capabilities intensifying the value we deliver to our clients," says Wilkins. "We are delighted to have DotModus on board and we look forward to our mutually beneficial partnership as we continue to take our clients on their journey of digital transformation."
