Web site winner to be announced at COMDEX SA

The organisers of the first COMDEX South Africa have announced yet extra added value to the event running from 3 - 6 October at Gallagher Estate, Midrand. Ten participants at COMDEX have been short-listed in a website award competition called Best@COMDEX. The winner will be announced at the prestigious COMDEX Gala Dinner on 3 October.

Spearheaded by the organisers and developed by Internet Strategies - part of the Core Holdings Limited group - the competition, which will become a regular COMDEX SA event, highlights the calibre of participants websites and fits perfectly with the COMDEX theme of "IT Solutions for the Internet Age".

Internet Strategies developed the following criteria for judging: Navigation - as in ease of navigation and consistency Purpose and design - to judge whether the site effectively meets the objectives it was designed and built for Aesthetic Appeal - for graphic design and interface Innovation - to judge the innovativeness and alternative design elements User Experience - for speed and quality of functionality Content Quality and Value - to assess how up to date and relevant content is Relevance to COMDEX - to determine whether the company`s participation at COMDEX is integrated into the site Security - to determine privacy policies, security of customer transactions Customer Support - for relevant contact details for local agents, enquiry forms and product user groups Personalisation - to judge capability to personalise the site
