This office was inaugurated by the Consul General of India in Cape Town, Abhishek Shukla, at a well-attended ceremony last week. The event also saw the presence of the new batch of interns who have undergone Zensar’s flagship Skills Development Program in South Africa.
Sandeep Kishore, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Zensar, said: “We are honoured to welcome Consul General of India in Cape Town, Abhishek Shukla, who graced us with his presence at the inauguration of our new Cape Town office. South Africa is a critical region for us and we hope to collaborate more closely with our key customers based in and around Cape Town from here. We have been focused on expanding to meet our customers’ needs and investing in Cape Town to add to our global business.”
Shukla commented: “South Africa is a fast-growing country when it comes to the business of technology. Cape Town is creating new opportunities for companies like Zensar, which have been in this country for a very long time, working closely with local enterprises to help them with their digital journey. Indian companies like Zensar are adding value to South Africa by creating employment, skilling local talent and being at the heart of this country’s digital transformation. I wish them all the very best for the future and applaud them on the great work they are doing in Cape Town and South Africa.”
Speaking on this occasion, Harish Lala, Senior Vice-President and Head, Africa, said: “It was a pleasure to host Honourable Consul General, Abhishek Shukla, in our new office in Cape Town. We have been increasingly working with some of the biggest enterprises in their transformation journeys in Cape Town and this new office is a testament to our commitment and focus on our clients and the region of Cape Town. We are also very excited to formally launch our Skills Development Program here, with graduates coming from Cape Town universities, in line with our ongoing efforts for many years in Johannesburg and enabling these young and bright associates to build a strong career. I look forward to this initiative growing in our Cape Town operations.”
The new office can seat many more people, with interactive spaces to encourage collaboration as well as serve as the centre for the Skills Development Program initiatives in Cape Town. Interns in Cape Town will be trained in cutting-edge IT technology such as cloud computing, robotics, etc, which are the skills needed by our customers and the local market today. Additionally, the selected candidates will also be trained in soft skills to make them job ready.
Three interns shared their stories with the audience at the inauguration event. They described their successful and rewarding journey with Zensar so far and how they look forward to a sustainable growth in their career path at Zensar.
