Microsoft technology partner Altron Karabina picked up three awards at the Microsoft Partner Awards 2019, held recently at the Houghton Hotel.

The company won Data and Analytics Partner of the Year for the 14 consecutive year, Business Applications ERP Partner of the Year for the second year in a row, and Modern Workplace Partner of the Year for a third time.

The annual awards recognise Microsoft partners demonstrating excellence in innovation and implementation of customer solutions based on Microsoft technology.

“We are honoured by Microsoft’s recognition of our deployments, the innovation we demonstrated and our business growth. We see ourselves as more than just a traditional IT partner; it is about using technology as the fundamental basis to drive growth and efficiencies while improving decision-making,” says Grant van der Wal, Managing Director of Altron Karabina.

“I would like to express my appreciation to the Altron Karabina team for your ongoing dedication. We have grown from strength to strength with our continuous efforts to enhance our skills and deliver solutions that help our customers to succeed. From our various business units, to sales and marketing, project delivery and operations, we’re fortunate to be doing what we love – delivering innovation that matters, to our customers.

A very big thank you to Microsoft for recognising us for what we do and for providing the ultimate platform on which to innovate. With the Azure data centres launched in South Africa this year and Office 365 now available, we are very excited about the potential that this brings. We are looking forward to the next year, the new opportunities for growth, and giving even more value to our customers,” adds Van der Wal.

While many businesses are investing in the cloud environment, there is still a huge segment that is yet to go commercial with it. Van der Wal says having a company as influential as Microsoft invest billions of rands in South Africa with the Azure data centres is significant, as companies like Altron Karabina deliver compelling value through the cloud using their technologies.

“With all the core Microsoft solutions being made available in South Africa by the end of this year, there is an electrifying period that awaits the market. We are making sure our clients are ready for the cloud and able to fully extract value from it,” he concludes.
