Alacrity, Momentum celebrate success

Cape Town, 26 Sep 2011

It has been nearly 13 years since an agreement was entered into, whereby MagmaTec (now Alacrity) was appointed to support Momentum's mainframe system. “This agreement heralded the start of MagmaTec, and since then, both companies have undergone immense changes, mergers, acquisitions and a coming of age,” comments Stuart Phillips, Alacrity's Chairman.

The successful completion of the project, referred to as EBEN, is a tremendous milestone for Alacrity, and worthy of the celebration that was held at the Radisson Hotel, in Cape Town.

“Alacrity's Support Services division plays a major role in a number of South Africa's largest corporations where legacy systems are required to ensure business continuity and set a foundation for sustainability; while newer technologies and systems are playing the innovation role.

“Not only do these systems require ongoing support from competent systems staff, but often they'll need ad hoc small-scale development to maintain their efficacy while other systems are being geared to replace them entirely, or to replace aspects of their functionality,” adds Brian Ford, Alacrity's CEO.

“In this instance, we maintained a great partnership relationship with Momentum, and our onsite team of professionals are lauded as the epitome of a high performing team. They maintained Momentum's systems at an exceptionally high standard.”

At the recent event, attended by staff from both organisations, Momentum was thanked for providing Alacrity with this opportunity, and staff involved in the project from Gauteng and Cape Town were recognised for the excellent skills, commitment, professionalism and maturity they showed throughout.
