Kaseya Global Pricing Survey offers in-depth look into MSP marketplace and key practices of high-growth MSPs

Data shows a healthy market with new opportunities for growth.

Boston, 04 Dec 2014

Kaseya, the leading provider of cloud-based IT management software, today released the results of its annual Managed Service Provider (MSP) Global Pricing Survey, which reveals a healthy global MSP market, and gives insight into a number of the business practices that higher-growth MSPs have in common.

With survey findings gathered from owners and operators of nearly 700 MSP firms spread across more than 30 countries, Kaseya's Global Pricing Survey report offers unique visibility into the IT services MSPs deliver to their clients.

The results provide a wealth of detail into what managed service providers currently offer, how they price key services and how the business of offering managed services has changed over the past year.

According to the findings, higher-growth MSPs are pricing higher, going after larger deals and implementing value-based pricing with their customers. They are also offering several emerging and advanced services that their lower growth counterparts are not offering as frequently. The survey also pinpointed opportunities for MSPs to offer new services in 2015 that would meet evolving customer demands, and enable those MSPs to differentiate themselves from other providers.

"The MSP market is constantly changing as clients' needs evolve, and successful MSPs need to continuously evolve their businesses to survive and thrive," said Loren Jarrett, chief marketing officer for Kaseya. "This year's survey shows us distinct patterns in the practices of higher-growth MSPs, and it contains a wealth of data that service providers can use to benchmark their businesses and help with critical pricing and service decisions."

Other highlights from Kaseya's 2014 survey include:

* For every category of managed service included in the previous 2013 survey, the percentage of 2014 respondents offering those services increased significantly.
* Offerings of network and connectivity support, monitoring client IT service levels, and cloud monitoring services showed the most dramatic increases.
* Less than 10% of respondents offer full mobile device management (MDM) and bring your own device (BYOD) management services, although over 20% expect to offer mobile device management within the next six months.
* Over 90% of respondents expect to either increase or keep their managed services pricing flat in 2015.
