Bank of America gets mobile app suit

Bank of America has unveiled a new suite of mobile banking products and service enhancements such as Mobile Check Deposit, Person-to-Person Email and Mobile Transfers and Mobile App Alerts, reports BBR Banking Technology.

Commenting on the new offerings, the bank said the customers will have the ability to completely manage their finances through their mobile device, from depositing a cheque, to paying friends and family, to reviewing balances among others.

Bank of America's mobile cheque deposit function allows customers to deposit cheques easily and securely without making a trip to the ATM or banking centre, according to The Financial Brand.com.

Once customers download an updated version of the mobile app onto their tablet or smartphone, they can use the app to snap photos of the cheque and follow a few simple on-screen instructions to complete their deposit.

Mobile Check Deposit is currently available on iPad but will be available soon on iPhone, Google Android smartphones or tablets and Windows Phones.

In addition to paying people and depositing cheques on the go, Bank of America has updated its mobile application so that customers can manage account alerts via their mobile device, says Finextra.

Through the added Mobile App Alerts feature, customers can elect to receive push notifications of these alerts on their mobile device, another convenient option to stay informed about their accounts.
