ITWeb announces Fujitsu as diamond sponsor of Data Centre Summit 2018

Johannesburg, 03 Jul 2018

Multinational information technology equipment and services company Fujitsu, has come on board as Diamond sponsor for the ITWeb Data Centre Summit 2018, to be held on 10 and 11 July at The Forum, in Bryanston.

Abdul Moosa, Fujitsu's chief technology officer: South Africa & English speaking Africa, says for the past few years, Fujitsu SA has focused primarily on the data centre space. "In the past, when it comes to events, we have only looked at our own Fujitsu event. This year we decided to look at alternative routes to get our vision and solutions visible in the market, and we believe that working with ITWeb will help us achieve this."

These events also help organisations make better and more informed decisions, he adds.

Angela Mace, CRM and events director of ITWeb, says South Africa's data centre is rapidly evolving, driven by an increasingly connected world, big data and cloud computing. "There's no question the data centre is at the heart of digital transformation for organisations across the board, as they look to remain competitive, and maximise their technology investments."

According to Moosa, delegates who attend the summit will have a better view of the decisions they need to make, and will be able to answer questions such as whether to go the converged infrastructure or hyper-converged route, and whether or not technologies are relevant for their businesses.

Most importantly, they will understand which data centre technologies will help them solve their business problems, and make them more competitive. "Understanding their key drivers, and what will work, will make them more successful."

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with over 200 qualified end-users of data centre architecture, infrastructure, technologies and solutions, as well as consumers of the latest trends. They will also hear the latest news, product information, and insight from a variety of vendors, as well as get hands-on knowledge through several demonstrations and practical content.

"Finally, they will hear about all the the latest and greatest data centre technology that vendors have to offer, and get a glimpse into what the experts see in the future for the modern data centre," Mace concludes.
