DiData appoints Alliance Data Corporation as an ISV for Software AG in SA

The Software AG Solutions division of Dimension Data has appointed Alliance Data Corporation (ADC) as one of its independent software vendors (ISVs) focusing on providing Natural and Adabas applications on open platforms.

As master distributor for Software AG (SAG) in South Africa, Dimension Data has aligned itself to SAG`s global partnering strategy, where various companies using the core Natural and Adabas development tools have been approached.

Confirming the appointment, Andrew Kirkland, channel sales manager at Dimension Data Software AG Solutions, says ADC is a valuable addition to the partner program in SA.

"ADC`s core technology is based on SAG`s Natural and Adabas, and the company focuses on designing applications and solutions for companies with high employee numbers, such as the mining industry.

"Its strengths lie in developing Financial, HR/Payroll and Supply Chain applications across the board, with emphasis on providing locally developed ERP applications that compete with the likes of SAP and JDEdwards," says Kirkland.

Paul Whysall, group managing director at ADC, says the applications the company has developed are integrated enterprise-wide resource management solutions, designed to manage and optimise the resource-based cost of operations.

"Many of our customers have operating budgets in the hundreds of millions of rands and, as a result, every percentage point decrease in operating costs can translate into saving of millions of rands annually.

"Many companies are experiencing significant pressure on their operating margins and are highly focused on reducing costs. I believe the improved cost management capability that our solutions provide will enable clients to reduce their costs."

The Dimension Data Authorised Partner Program is aimed at ISVs, value added resellers and system integrators either developing their own applications using SAG products, or those who would prefer to extend their solutions to include e-commerce and middleware.

The program was designed to give authorised partners benefits such as exclusive access to various SAG products, special marketing programs and pricing arrangements.
