Telepresence provider Tandberg and BroadSoft, a provider of voice over Internet protocol (VOIP) applications, have extended their joint solution with the release of additional Tandberg product interoperability and application capabilities.

With BroadSoft's Device Management functionality, the configuration and provisioning of its video products, notes Tandberg, are now seamlessly integrated with BroadWorks business applications.

Its desktop E20 system can now also be deployed using the same management and provisioning processes currently used for traditional VOIP phones and devices, the company adds.

According to Bryan Thompson, Tandberg area manager for sub-Saharan Africa, the single unified service activation process for both the audio and video components of unified communications speeds up the integration process.

“BroadSoft is tightly integrated with Tandberg Multipoint Control Units, which enables hosted multipoint video conferencing, so service providers can deliver video conferencing as a cloud service,” adds Thompson.

Marc Halbfinger, CEO of Tandberg partner PCCW Global, says: "The ability to easily integrate high-definition video and VOIP conferencing is becoming a priority for businesses of all sizes. The extended capabilities of the BroadSoft and Tandberg partnership will make it even easier and more cost effective for our customers to deploy the technology across their organisation.”

Thompson says the enhanced Tandberg and BroadSoft solution allows for more customised systems, and organisations that previously lacked the resources to deploy on-premise video communications across the entire business, can now do so with the integrated Tandberg BroadSoft solution.

“Simplifying the management and integration of video is especially crucial for the small and medium enterprise that is often reliant on efficient and effective managed services to drive technology integration,” Thompson concludes.
