Aruba Networks this week launched its new line of wireless solutions, targeting the current and future needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The company decided to introduce its new portfolio of solutions, dubbed Instant On, based on market needs in the EMEA region, Aruba co-founder and president Keerti Melkote told journalists at its EMEA Atmosphere 2019 event.

“We have taken our Aruba instant technology that we’ve honed over the last decade…to bring it to small businesses and we call it Aruba Instant On. The idea is to leverage all the expertise and wireless that we have built over the years, but make it very cost-effective and easy to consume.

“The idea of Instant On products is to plug it into your network, using a simple mobile app to pair it up and get the WiFi going, not only for the employees but for customers as well.

“This is a new market opportunity for us as we have played in the large and medium enterprises market until now in terms of wireless and now want to participate fully in the SME side.”

Based on the company’s stats, small businesses have upped their IT investments, with 52% increasing their IT budgets because of increased security concerns.

Aruba also found that 62% of small businesses noticed customers spend more time on their premises when WiFi access was offered and 68% of these types of businesses have a focus on investing in replacing out of date IT infrastructure in 2019.

Aruba has identified the small business market as having enormous potential at the edge, according to Morten Illum, VP of EMEA at Aruba. “The SMEs’ feedback to us is that they want the same security and quality as large enterprises, and want it delivered in a simple way.

“Instant On is really about taking all of our knowledge from the enterprise and offering it to SMEs in a very efficient and simple way. Whether it is on-premises or on-cloud, that choice is available to them.”

The Aruba Instant On product line will begin shipping in early July, starting at $119 (R1 765).

Aruba is part of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise after the 2015 acquisition. It competes against networking companies such as Cisco and Motorola Solutions.
