Avnet Technology Solutions has moved to strengthen its HP enterprise business in the region by hosting a 'Storage Academy' training sessions for local resellers.

Avnet Technology Solutions, in association with HP, will bring the Storage Academy to SA to train its channel partners. The academy says it has received positive response from its partners from Cairo, Beirut, Kuwait and Riyadh.

Research has revealed that data is growing at an explosive rate and it has become important to have an efficient storage design than a high performance.

The academy is aimed at addressing the latest trends, challenges and pain points that partners face. It also aims to educate the channel partners the importance of designing efficient storage solutions and enhancing their skill-sets.

According to the MD of Avnet Technology Solutions Middle East and Africa, Jamal Qaffaf, this academy is a great platform to educate and train Avent's partners to offer the best possible storage solution at the most competitive price.

“There is a huge potential for our partners to add value to their business by offering the right kind of solutions to their customer,” he adds.

He reckons the programme for the Storage Academy will highlight the key value adds that Avnet provides to its partners as well as it would lay emphasis on advantages of HP Converged Infrastructure and HP StorageWorks.

“The HP Converged Infrastructure provides a blueprint for the data centre of the future that eliminates costly and rigid IT silos so your customers can spend much more of the IT budget on business innovation,” he says.

Qaffaf adds that the academy aims to educate its partners HP StorageWorks solutions can offer, the right storage architectures to support a virtualised infrastructure, more efficient storage closely integrated with the server apart from discussing the simple and easy ways to manage business continuity and high availability solutions.

Avnet, in association with Brocade, will also talk about the storage networking before opening the forum for an open discussion with the partners.

The academy kicks off in Johannesburg on 2March.
