Softline Pastel will showcase the new features of Pastel Evolution Version 3 including its new personal digital assistant module at its stand during Futurex, which is being held from 16 to 19 May at the Sandton Convention Centre.

Mohammed Mosam, Director of Pastel Evolution, a division of Softline Pastel, says while corporates have enjoyed the mobile functionality provided by large ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems for some time, it has not been made available to small to medium enterprises (SMEs) because of the costs involved.

"With the cost of mobile technology coming down all the time as the market rapidly expands, Pastel saw the need to develop a mobile product that enables SMEs to become more efficient in managing their internal processes," he says.

The personal digital assistant module will be demonstrated at Softline Pastel`s stand at B14 to B16 in the Futurex Exhibition Hall 1, giving visitors the chance to see first hand how the module will revolutionise the role of the sales staff in an SME.

Along with the personal digital assistant module, Mosam says other modules in the new version include the new sales force automation module which will allow SMEs to track leads and maintain the sales pipeline. A key feature of this module will include the integration of information from the CRM module and the sales force module giving consistency of data, which does not have to be recaptured between two separate systems.

Pastel Evolution Version 3 also includes an improved manufacturing module which is an extension to the bill of materials module and a lot tracking module allowing companies to track stock or sales origins.
