Altron Karabina appointed Microsoft Licensing Solution Provider
The LSP contract will position Altron Karabina as partners to customers that embark on digital transformation, helping them extract business value quicker.
Microsoft has named Altron Karabina as its trusted Licensing Solution Provider (LSP) in the country, after the company has complied with the stringent governance requirements to do so. This enables it to offer more expertise and value to its current and future customers.
This agreement comes as Altron is positioning its recently acquired subsidiary, Altron Karabina, to be the go-to partner for everything Microsoft, said Altron Group Chief Executive Mteto Nyati. “This LSP contract will position Altron Karabina as partners to customers that embark on digital transformation. Customers invest in technology to increase sales, improve operational efficiencies, transform the customer and employee experience, and drive innovation. Altron Karabina will help them extract business value quicker.”
Being appointed as an LSP also ushers in an exciting time for Altron Karabina, said Grant van der Wal, Altron Karabina's Managing Director. “The LSP licence allows us to launch our software services division, adding to our Microsoft competencies in data and analytics, artificial intelligence, customer relationship management, ERP, modern workplace, Azure and DevOps.
“We will be offering consumption billing to our customers as they start unlocking the strategic value delivered through the cloud. The software services team will work closely with the consulting services team to serve customers in the best way possible.”
The software services division is fully aligned to Microsoft and will be providing modern Microsoft licensing through LSP, direct Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) and software asset management (SAM) services, and is launched at a time when there is a significant shift to cloud-based services, as seen following the recent opening of the Microsoft data centres.
Headed by 14-year IT industry veteran and software specialist Nicole Oliveira, the business unit will deliver cloud-based offerings to existing and new customers.
Altron, through its subsidiary, Bytes UK, is Microsoft’s biggest LSP partner in the United Kingdom; it's a position the technology company plans to extend to South Africa. Altron Karabina is working closely with Bytes UK to duplicate its success locally.
“With Microsoft recently announcing double-digit growth and hitting the $1 trillion mark on the stock market, we are definitely in a good place with a great partner. Our customers are moving to the cloud and we are the company that can offer expertise across the full depth and breadth of what Microsoft has to offer,” concludes Van der Wal.
