The ANC says citizens can use the new Web site to access a wide range of content.

The African National Congress (ANC) has launched its "newly-revamped" Web site under a new domain: anc1912.org.za

The launch comes after fall out with the previous Web site host due to "non-payment".

While the party claimed its Web site was down due to maintenance, it was reported that the site couldn't be accessed because the service provider was owed millions in outstanding fees.

Business Day reported that "a service provider claims the ANC owes it R32.5 million for developing and hosting the party's Web site".

National ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe rubbished the claims.

Speaking at the launch this afternoon, Mabe said: "The ANC Web site is friendly and easy to use even on mobile devices to navigate through wide range of content including upcoming events, speeches, archives, our Constitution and all other important organisational documents."

Mabe called on users to visit the site to catch all information related to the organisation. "We are asserting the fact that ours is the oldest liberation movement in Africa. We are going ahead with this interaction and making information dissemination exciting and dynamic."
