Sage VIP, a leading supplier of payroll and human resource management solutions in South Africa and Africa, recently held a prestigious awards evening for employees at the Legend Golf and Safari Resort in Limpopo. The event, dubbed the 'Oscars', is in its 13th year and saw employees receiving awards for exceptional contributions to the business in terms of meeting financial targets, and living the company values of service excellence, commitment to quality, care and innovation.
The event, attended by more than 80% of Sage VIP's employees, represented from South Africa as well as the rest of Africa, formed part of a weekend breakaway to which all employees were invited. "Last year was an exceptional year for our company, and an important part of our culture at Sage VIP is to celebrate success. Our employees are integral to realising our goals and achieving growth in a very competitive market. We thus organise these breakaways on an annual basis to say thank you and give formal recognition to our employees," says Anja van Beek, HR Director at Sage VIP.
During the event, 66 employees received awards in varying categories. The most prestigious being the Employee of the Year award, which was bestowed upon Warren Taylor, former Team Leader of Project Consulting and currently a Business Manager in the Project Department. "Warren deserved this award, as the executive team believes he truly lives the company values, constitutes everything the company stands for, makes a real difference in the working environment, leads by example, and is well respected by colleagues," says Van Beek.
"This year will again be challenging for our company, as we continue to expand into Africa. I believe initiatives such as the annual Oscars event will encourage our employees to continue with their exceptional contribution in growing the business, giving excellent service to our clients and living the company values on a daily basis," concludes Van Beek.
