Nkgwete IT Solutions Managing Director Siddika Osman has been short-listed as a finalist in this year’s Standard Bank Top Women Awards, in the Fast Growth Woman-Owned SMME category.

Since its establishment in 2012, and under Osman's leadership, Nkgwete IT Solutions has experienced incredible growth. The company processes an average of 3 000 calls per month and supports more than 10 000 laptops (devices) throughout SA.

It is also under her leadership that Nkgwete IT Solutions was nominated as a finalist at the Oliver Top Empowerment Awards and the Gender Mainstreaming Awards in 2018.

In 2019 she was awarded Africa Tech Woman of the Year 2019 at the inaugural Africa Tech Week and got the opportunity to represent SA at London Tech Week.

Osman is passionate about empowering other women and giving them opportunities to succeed in their careers. This is evident in Nkgwete's organisational structure: 40% of the technical staff are female, while 60% of the management team are female.

“Women must be given opportunities to be in management roles, and training opportunities must be provided to women so that they obtain the required skills and certification to be able to be promoted to management positions,” says Osman.

“Women in management and senior management positions must avail themselves as mentors to females who have just entered the SMME market or corporate workplace. Experience is the best teacher and mentorship will provide the platform for experienced female leaders to share knowledge and skills with up-and-coming females.”
