Citrix plans to launch Workspace for Google Cloud. This was revealed yesterday at Citrix Synergy 2019, a digital work conference taking place in Atlanta, Georgia.
Citrix is an American multinational software company that provides server, application and desktop virtualisation, networking, software-as-a-service and cloud computing technologies.
Making the announcement, Citrix said the race to the cloud is on and it's about to pick up speed. It believes by launching Workspace for Google Cloud, organisations can expand the flexibility and choice they have in transitioning to the cloud by enabling them to quickly and efficiently deliver apps to Google devices and operating systems.
Through Citrix Workspace, companies can provide single sign-on access to all the apps and content employees prefer to use in one, unified experience, including out-of-the-box integrations with more than 150 enterprise applications, such as Salesforce, Workday, SAP Ariba and SAP Concur, ServiceNow, Microsoft Outlook and G Suite.
"As companies move more apps to the cloud, they need an easy, secure way for employees to access them anywhere, anytime from any device," said David Henshall, president and CEO of Citrix. "In delivering Citrix Workspace for Google Cloud, we are enabling our customers to accelerate their digital transformations and deliver a simple, intuitive experience for their users."

Citrix notes that extending Citrix Workspace beyond Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops for companies using Google Cloud will enable them to modernise their apps and deliver unified access across Google devices and operating systems to create a productivity powerhouse for employees and IT administrators alike.
It adds that planned interoperability with Google's Cloud Identity, for instance, will allow for the seamless authentication of users using G Suite credentials to access Citrix Workspace, which will provide a more secure and unified end-user experience.
In addition, the company notes the integration of intelligent capabilities into G Suite will enable companies to automatically notify employees of important events from their Google calendars through personalised feeds within Citrix Workspace.
"This will create a simple, intelligent experience that boosts engagement and productivity by reducing frustration from constantly switching apps and searching for information," says Citrix.
