CSC introduces cloud-based billing

CSC unveiled the delivery options for its Exceed Billing application at the vendor's Connect for Property and Casualty user conference in Nashville, reports Insurance Tech.

The Java version of Exceed Billing is now available in software as a service (SaaS), accelerating agile implementation in client data centres, on a physical or virtual stack, or on a private cloud.

According to IBR, Exceed Billing includes self-service capabilities where authorised users configure the software to add new pay plans, expire and replace plans, and add new data fields, without IT involvement.

Jeffery Schwalk, CSC's property and casualty insurance division president, says Exceed Billing software offered in the cloud or as a service is a reliable, cost-effective alternative to an on-premises deployment or managed services offering, enabling powerful customer service delivery through an insurer's most frequent touch point with customers.

Regardless of the size of the carrier, the businesses would be able to consolidate billing processes across various lines of business, distribution channels and policy systems, thereby increasing functionality and flexibility in billing, writes Insurance Networking.

“Interest in SaaS from all sizes and types of carriers has grown rapidly, and commoditised, labour-intensive tasks, such as billing and collections management, are ideally suited for this deployment option,” says Chad Hersh, a partner in Novarica's insurance practice.
