Gartner affirms Vox Telecom's enterprise mobility strategy

Johannesburg, 27 Jun 2012

Gartner has named MobileIron, the mobile device management software available in South Africa through Vox Telecom, as the global leader in its newly released 2012 Magic Quadrant report for mobile device management.

A notable strength, according to Gartner, is MobileIron's "very articulated and rich mix of partnership relations" with distribution channels, business application developers and technology companies such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, RIM, Cisco, HP and IBM.

"Managing the integration and security of the proliferation of personal mobile devices is one of the biggest challenges IT managers face today," says Will Hardie, Executive Head of Vox Telecom's Enterprise Mobility Division.

"There is no way you can dictate to users what devices they buy, and if you want to benefit from mobility, you have to allow those devices to interact with your corporate network,” says Hardie. “MobileIron's partnerships mean they can offer a simple, seamless way to bring mobile devices safely and securely into your network.”

Based in Mountain View, California, MobileIron has grown rapidly since entering the market in 2009, and now dominates the mobile device management market in markets around the world, with a strong presence in the US, Europe and the Asia/Pacific region. Its revenue grew by more than 400% in 2011.

"Vox Telecom identified MobileIron as the global leader in providing mobile device and multi-OS management for the enterprise, and we're delighted that this news from Gartner lends further support to our decision," says Hardie. “We are addressing the single biggest concern of CIOs with the best solution available.”
