Unity and strength in numbers drove 20 000 women of all races to the Union Buildings in South Africa's capital 62 years ago to demand that a woman should not have to carry a pass to exist in society. SA History states the women "famously challenged the idea that 'a woman's place is in the kitchen', declaring it instead to be 'everywhere'". Let's be sure now, that in celebrating women in August 2018, that everywhere means everywhere; proven by the likes of the women of Sabinet.
