Westcon-Comstor Sub-Saharan Africa is pleased to announce the appointment of Saartjie Wait in the capacity of Marketing and Digital Experience Director for the region, effective 1 June 2018.

In her role, Wait is responsible for developing and growing the internal and external Westcon-Comstor brand, delivering on key strategies to mobilise vendor and partner engagements and sales, as well as establishing the business as a leader in digital distribution and logistics.

"As a business, we are in a core growth phase in the region, following the realignment of our African business, making it critical that we provide our partners with improved insight into the unique brand of value-added distribution we bring to the table," states Rakesh Parbhoo, CEO at Westcon-Comstor Sub-Saharan Africa. "Saartjie is no stranger to our business and has played an important role in assisting us with developing a go-to-market strategy that focuses on growing the top line of our vendors, partners and our business."

She has been in the IT industry for the past 25 years, starting at Siemens Telecommunications in 1996, and she has held various roles over this time, from strategic account manager, channel manager at Avaya and a senior management position at Grintek Telecom. Wait was also part of the International FIFA IT management team responsible for operations at all stadium venues, including FIFA HQ, during the World Cup in 2010.

Following this, she started her own events management company, but her passion for marketing is why she returned to the corporate arena. Wait has vast experience in developing vendor strategies and go-to-market initiatives, including digital transformation, which is key to staying relevant in a competitive landscape.

"As Westcon-Comstor, we are in the enviable position of being able to provide business value through our offerings of services, logistics, support and training, combined with our strategic vendor relationships and our digital distribution strategy. This is what we believe makes us a leader in value-added distribution," says Wait.

"I am looking forward to not only driving the Westcon-Comstor message into the market, but also taking our vendors and partners along with us on a journey to achieve success," she ends.
