Cisco CxO Forum - tackling the future

Rapid changes in video and security are affecting the way in which businesses interact with their customers.

This is according to Leon Wright, country lead, systems engineering, at Cisco. Video technology has evolved to include tools like immersive video - a virtual video that allows viewers to interact with the images and content they receive, thereby not limiting them to a static view of only what they see.

This impacts business as the interactive nature of this technology can provide a more personal touch to customer service - it can also have significant impact if used for presentations, Wright says.

Cisco, together with ITWeb, will be hosting a CxO Forum on 6March at the Cisco Conference Centre, in Bryanston. Political analyst and futurist Daniel Silke will deliver the keynote presentation, “Tracking the future: Top trends to transform the globe to 2050“, in which he will examine the trends and changes that are affecting the workplace and technology.

Wright says organisations face security challenges because of the 'bring your own device' phenomenon in that employees want to work from their own devices. He suggests that organisations need to use borderless architecture to address this, which Cisco will demonstrate via its product suite at the event.

Local tech guru Aki Anastasiou will also facilitate a discussion around issues that keep CIOs awake at night.

The event is free and Cisco will showcase how its enterprise architecture can bring together mobile, visual, virtual and social platforms.
