Premier Internet service provider (ISP) and network integrator, DataPro, has become the first tier-one ISP to be awarded membership of Proudly South Africa.
DataPro was accredited thanks to its Government Internet Solution, a complete service that includes all the aspects of electronic communication, network security and redundancy, as well as high-speed Internet access.
The development and launch of the company`s Government Internet Solution is part of its drive to "provide a cost-effective government-focused solution and to increase company revenues in the public sector".
This is according to DataPro MD, Douglas Reed, who said the new solution would be sold via its reseller programme and through a network of black empowerment vendors.
"While our solution is now commercially available we are in the process of talking to a number of black resellers as part of our move to bring an empowerment aspect, not only to the solution, but to our company as a whole."
The DataPro Government Internet Solution includes Internet Bandwidth, e-mail server, firewall and network intrusion detection Software, and MailMarshal, specialised software to control e-mail abuse and viruses.
One of the aims of Proudly South Africa is to create jobs and stimulate the economy. The Proudly South African stamp of approval also assures the South African market of the premium quality of the service or product offered - and that it competes in line with recognised international standards on design and performance.
