French mobile phone and ruggedised mobile technology company Crosscall has introduced new mobile devices in SA, targeting outdoor enthusiasts.

Crosscall yesterday unveiled its Core range in the country, comprising three smartphones and a tablet.

Founded by CEO Cyril Vidal in 2009, Crosscall is pursuing its international expansion with a presence in 15 countries across the globe, and 20 000 points of sale.

The company made its debut in the South African market in July last year, with the launch of five new smartphones.

The brand specialises in waterproof, durable and autonomous mobile phones, which it says are adapted to the hostile and unpredictable environments encountered by athletes and professionals in various fields. It also offers a range of high-performance accessories.

The Core-T4 is Crosscall’s first tablet. The tablet is an outdoor mobile office for professionals, and a portable leisure station that can also withstand outdoor conditions and children.

The tablet is equipped with a 13MP camera and is waterproof, meaning users can take pictures underwater.

Crosscall also introduced three smartphones – the Core X4, M4 and M4 Go.

It guarantees all the products in the new Core range for three years.

“For us, this step represents the first of many in a project that consists of moving away from consumer-oriented telephony, to telephony based on user needs and sustainability,” says Cyril Vidal, founder and president of Crosscall.

“Our brand is based on the idea that a phone is made to meet the needs of its users, to fit their lifestyle and to last, no matter what environment it is exposed to. Putting the user at the centre of our products’ design and committing to their durability is where the true innovation lies.”
