Kaplan's STT InfoShare streamlines learner, lesson management

Enabling organisations to develop and maintain enterprise application end-user competency

Atlanta, 20 Feb 2008

Kaplan IT Learning, a leading provider of learning services and software to help individuals and organisations train on software technology, announces the release of STT InfoShare, a new e-learning lesson deployment solution for STT Trainer.

Kaplan's STT Trainer enables authors to quickly create end-user simulation training for any enterprise-wide application such as enterprise resource planning, call centre software or any customised software application.

STT InfoShare provides organisations with a powerful and affordable delivery platform for STT Trainer lessons and other Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) content, the collection of standards and specifications for Web-based e-learning.

With STT InfoShare, customers can seamlessly deploy STT Trainer lessons directly into a SCORM-conformant platform and assign lessons to individuals based on their role within the organisation. The product enables organisations to deliver the precise training needed by employees to quickly become competent on the organisation's software applications.

"The introduction of STT InfoShare helps Kaplan IT Learning meet the needs of companies looking for a way to effortlessly deploy training lessons to their workforce," said Brian Sholly, President of Kaplan IT Learning.

"Companies will be able to place their training content into one location, allowing convenient accessibility for the learners. It also will enable training managers to administer training programmes easily and efficiently."

IT project managers, training managers and human resource managers use STT Trainer to reduce the time and cost required to train and support end-users on applications ranging from specialised ERP and CRM systems to more generally used Windows, Web and Java-based applications.

STT InfoShare features include:

Powerful learner and lesson management - to ensure that employees receive the exact training they need, at any time, to become competent on their organisation's applications. Learners can be matched to content based on criteria such as job role within the organisation, department and location. Job roles and searchable keywords are entered directly into the lessons for easy, seamless assignment of lessons to learners. SCORM-conformant functionality allows training administrators to upload SCORM courseware from third party vendors so learners can find their training content in one location.

Effective user management - enabling assignment of student, manager or administrator profiles. Users can be assigned to cost centres, business units, and geographic areas for appropriate tracking and flexible managerial reporting. Learners can be linked to their respective managers for reporting and course approvals.

Flexible performance and progress reports - to provide insight to managers on individual and organisational performance. Managers can review programme progress statistics by viewing Web-based reports which can be downloaded into Excel, and can filter performance reports by learners or by course. Enhanced data filtering allows administrators to produce performance and progress reports by cost centres, business units, organisational departments or geographic regions.
