Driving cognitive analytics and big data

Johannesburg, 03 Aug 2018

The relationship between artificial intelligence and business intelligence is deepening daily, as augmented analytics takes centre stage. In a world where global market shifts can occur in a matter of minutes, access to real-time data, and the capability to analyse that data effectively, has become more important than ever before.

At the Qonnections 2018 conference, Qlik announced not only its commitment to truly cognitive analytics, but also announced the launch of a new QSL (not SQL) solution, called the Associative Big Data Index.

"This is a new cloud service on Qlik's product roadmap that will expand the associative experience with big data, moving the power of association from the user interface to the underlying ecosystem of all data. This new capability will enable fast and engaging data discovery on massive data volumes with full access to all the details of the underlying data, without the need to load all the data into memory," says Qlik, a leader in data analytics.

The company also announced the winners of its annual global and regional partner awards. Presented at Qonnections 2018, the company's global customer and partner event, the awards recognise the Qlik partner community for excellence in several different categories.

"2017 was another year of growth for Qlik and our modern, platform-based approach to analytics and BI. As Qlik is increasingly adopted across the enterprise, our global partner network plays a key role in helping customers gain the maximum impact from our high-value solutions that meet customers' BI requirements from a single platform," said Chris Moore, Senior Vice-President of Global Partners and Alliances, Qlik. "We are proud to acknowledge the achievements made in 2017 by Qlik partners and look forward to continuing our mutual success in 2018."

This year, the EMEA partner award recipients included a valuable partner from South Africa. The award for Master Reseller of the Year went to South Africa Qlik Master Reseller (SAQMR), a subsidiary of the EOH Group.

"This partner is setting the standard for what Qlik expects from our master reseller community. With 81% growth in licence sales in 2017, this reseller has been one of our most committed partners. Last year, they closed one of Qlik's largest deals in the financial services industry, just one of more than 350 opportunities. Their commitment to Qlik is shown not only in their extensive sub-reseller community, but also in the emphasis placed on education, enablement and certification. Their annual Qlik event draws attendance of more than 1 200, reflecting their outstanding presence and reputation in the marketplace," confirmed Qlik.

SAQMR Managing Director James Hickman confirmed this achievement was the result of a team effort. "We are exceedingly proud of our team for its commitment to innovation, digital transformation and the facilitation of powerful analytics that drive valuable business insights. Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible solutions developed by Qlik, as well as the commitment of our customers to continuous innovation, feeding their drive for deeper data insights," he concluded.
