ICT distributor Pinnacle has been appointed an official distributor of IT security company Bitdefender.
Pinnacle will be responsible for the distribution of Bitdefender's range of consumer products, including Bitdefender 2018. These products comprise Bitdefender Total Security, Internet Security and Antivirus Plus, and will be distributed in Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
Pinnacle will also distribute Bitdefender's corporate solutions to the SADC region, including SA.
Pablo Puig, channel director - Africa at Bitdefender, says: "Pinnacle features a strong channel footprint into Africa which aligns well with our focus to grow the awareness and adoption of Bitdefender consumer on the continent."
In terms of Bitdefender's corporate solutions, he says Pinnacle's education and government business will provide a good synergy, enabling Bitdefender to strengthen its business in these marketplaces.
Pinnacle CEO Tim Humphreys-Davies says Bitdefender's wide range of solutions covering both home and business users was the reason that Pinnacle wanted to partner with it.
Bitdefender's solution offering aligns with Pinnacle's broad customer base and ambitions to grow the business, as providing enterprise-ready software to its clients forms a large part of its strategy, he adds.
This isn't the only distribution agreement signed by Pinnacle in the last few months. In October 2017, the company inked a distribution deal with Mellanox Technologies, a US supplier of Ethernet and InfiniBand interconnect solutions for servers, storage and hyper-converged infrastructure.
Similarly, in November last year, Pinnacle won distribution rights to Commvault's range of cloud data management solutions.
