As organisations are focusing on their digital transformation journey, the threat landscape is ever-changing, and each market has its own unique challenges.

In light of these factors, ITWeb, in partnership with Fortinet, is conducting a survey to find out how well South African organisations are approaching their digital journey from a security point of view.

Doros Hadjizenonos, regional sales director for SADC at Fortinet, says: “Through this survey, Fortinet aims to get local insight into market and better understand challenges and concerns that survey respondents bring to the fore.”

The survey will add local insight into a global challenge, he adds.

“Cyber crime is flourishing, and ransomware attacks are particularly prevalent, with criminals now targeting devices on the edge that control critical infrastructure. The only way to fend them off is to build security into every process – at every step of each organisation's digital journey,” Hadjizenonos

The survey could also nudge IT professionals into considering technologies or strategies they hadn’t previously prioritised, especially when the results are published, and they can see which areas their peers are putting their trust into.

In addition, the outcomes will allow Fortinet to assess the appetite for establishing local cross-industry attack alert and support systems, to help its customers or other concerned IT professionals share information and best practices.

Among other things, the survey investigates how far advanced South African businesses are on their digital transformation journey. It also asks them whether they’re confident their systems can adequately withstand cyber attacks, and interrogates their zero trust stance.

The detailed results of the survey will be published on ITWeb and valid respondents will stand a chance (if they opt in) to win a R3 000 Takealot voucher, courtesy of ITWeb.
