Leading open source technology and services provider Obsidian Systems is proud to announce its participation in the Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO) Africa 2019 event as an official sponsor partner supporting one of several topic break out and discussion streams.

CDAO Africa 2019 will take place on 17 and 18 July at the Maslow, Sandton, South Africa. Now in its fourth year, the theme of this year’s event is ‘moving towards a data-driven and data-centric future’.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is considered the driving force behind this event and widely acknowledged to be a business priority in today’s market.

“There is a whole host of expert speakers lined up and we are very excited to participate and support this channel of sharing valuable insight into the world of AI. This is one of the fast growth areas of commercial communications technology and is massively influential… this is one event you cannot miss if you want to better understand AI deployment, challenges and lessons learnt,” says Muggie van Staden, MD of Obsidian Systems.

CDAO Africa 2019 is touted as ‘the most comprehensive data analytics event in Africa’ and according to Van Staden, speaks to the reality faced by all businesses operating today: data and analysis is pivotal to enhancing processes and procedures, and also to helping businesses with their market strategy, including continuity.

“We know that data is the lifeblood of any organisation today and the ability of business owners to leverage this resource, to not only analyse the data but also act on the results, is what separates players today,” he says. “AI, machine learning, deep analysis and robotics continues to disrupt and redefine sectors. It is an exciting time to be in business.”
