Nihilent Technologies, a Johannesburg-based global consulting and solution integrations company has entered into a skill and talent development programme with a leading human talent solutions company, to provide training to local South African matriculants.
As part of its skill and talent development initiative, Nihilent has developed a training programme for up-skilling local talent in the area of manual software testing, with both theoretical and practical knowledge. While the training will be delivered by external agencies, Nihilent will be actively involved in ensuring quality of the training.
Towards this end, Nihilent will be assigning mentors (leaders in testing field) to engage with the trainees and provide them with industry insights and best practices, thus imparting holistic education.
Speaking about the significance of the programme, Das Mallya, Head of HR at Nihilent in South Africa, said: "Nihilent's philosophy behind this initiative is to contribute towards the skill transfer plan and focus on mentoring and imparting life skills to the youngsters, while giving them pointers on the right attitude and professionalism. And we are hoping that our South African clients partner with us in this journey to provide this talent an opportunity to work in their environment."
The training programme will be for a duration of four months and will be conducted over weekends. At the end of the training, they will be awarded with a certificate to the effect that they have undergone the Software Tester Program. This marks a significant step for India headquartered Nihilent, which has demonstrated its commitment to building technical capability in South Africa while also helping improve employability of talented matriculants. The effort will be to impart the best of technical training and teaching life skills to youngsters, thereby giving a solid foundation to their fledgling careers.
