Centrix updates WorkSpace

Centrix Software has updated its WorkSpace suite to provide more detailed information for organisations planning a Windows 7 migration, while also delivering single sign-on capability for cloud computing services, V3.co.uk reports.

The updates come in WorkSpace iQ 5.3 and WorkSpace Universal 5.3, Centrix's IT infrastructure analytics tool and application delivery platform, which are available either separately or as part of the WorkSpace suite.

The most recent update adds support for single sign-on for software as a service (SaaS) applications and cloud computing services via access to a user's Active directory credentials, CloudPro notes.

The product provides pass-through authentication to these SaaS applications, automatically supplying the required validation to SaaS providers on behalf of the user.

"The influx of SaaS is increasing at a rate that requires IT to determine policies around the use and support of external applications,” said Paul Burke, director of products at Centrix Software. He added that the new updates would allow organisations to create governance around new virtual and cloud-based service delivery while “maintaining application availability and supporting existing infrastructure investments”.
