Cloud DDOS protection service provider Radware to open scrubbing centre in South Africa

Mahwah, NJ, 02 Nov 2017

Radware, a leading provider of cyber security and application delivery solutions, today announced it will open a new scrubbing centre in South Africa by the end of the year, which will allow African businesses to more quickly and effectively thwart DDOS attacks near their point of origin. Radware is the first and only global Cloud DDOS Provider to open a scrubbing centre on the African continent. Radware will exhibit its security solutions, highlighting the new South African scrubbing centre, at AfricaCom from 7 to 9 November at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa.

By opening a scrubbing centre on the African continent, Radware helps eliminate the latency associated with diverting traffic to and from European or American scrubbing centres. Meanwhile Radware's worldwide network of scrubbing centres can mitigate global DDOS attacks on African businesses near the points of origin - whether that is Europe, the Americas, or Asia - before the attacks reach their intended targets on the African continent.

Haim Zelikovsky, Vice President of Cloud Services at Radware, said, "By opening a scrubbing centre in South Africa, we're bringing our global mitigation capacity closer to home for these businesses. With Radware's global mitigation capacity, African organisations can defend themselves against even the largest and most complex DDOS attacks."

Using state-of-the-art DDOS mitigation technology, Radware provides African customers with defenses against the newest DDOS threats, including IOT botnets, burst attacks, dynamic IP attacks, SSL-based attacks, and more. Radware offers a full breadth of cloud DDOS security coverage, using hybrid or pure cloud solutions for optimal on-demand or always-on protection. Customers in Africa can enjoy Radware's fully managed cloud DDOS protection services, provided by Radware's Emergency Response Team (ERT) of Radware Cloud Security Services.

As a global leader in the cloud DDOS market, Radware maintains compliance with the strictest certifications, including

* ISO 27001 (Information Security Management Systems);
* ISO 27032 (Security Techniques -- Guidelines for Cybersecurity),
* ISO 27017 (Information Security for Cloud Services);
* ISO 27018 (Information Security Protection of Personally identifiable information (PII) in public clouds);
* ISO 28000 (Specification for Security Management Systems for the Supply Chain); and PCI-DSS v3.1 (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), making it an ideal partner for financial services, government, and other organizations in highly regulated industries across Africa and the world.

Radware works with key partners in the region who benefit from Radware's more robust cloud offerings.

"Radware has enjoyed the trust of many organizations in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, among other African countries, by subscribing to their cloud services," said Justin Lee, Managing Director of Obscure Technologies. "We are very pleased that Radware decided to invest locally to further improve the user experience. We are committed to the moto 'Every Second Counts' and to support local partners."
