Service providers and solution manufacturers within the ICT space continue to launch highly innovative products and devices, while decision-makers in business are forced to make considerably difficult decisions to sustain operations. Helping to find the middle ground is precisely what Dac Systems has been established to do.
The company, a national specialist services provider focused on turnkey implementation of leading-edge industry solutions, in association with its partners Microsoft South Africa and Nintex, recently hosted an information and technology awareness session at Microsoft, in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
Speaking to delegates at the event, Aldo van Tonder spoke of businesses across the globe being in turmoil, and continuous pressure on the economy, while continuous roll-out of innovative technology continues.
"Our agenda for today's event is 'the perfect storm'. In the local environment, mining is taking hits all over the place, and because of that, commodities are beginning to suffer. That has a direct influence on the economy of various types of businesses. At the same time, solution and tech vendors are launching some of the most innovative devices and technologies ever seen. So you have businesses that need to make core, strategic decisions and at the same time there is some real value add from some of the technologies... and how do you marry this?" asked Van Tonder.
Dac Systems' approach is to emphasise simplicity and performance in the integration and application of technology. The company underlines the importance of coming back to the business value as opposed to the novelty value.
"Use what is available in the business and enterprise context," Van Tonder added.
The event formed part of the company's ongoing industry-specific solution drive, based on mature Microsoft products, which is integrated into its planning and development framework characterised by productivity, governance and enterprise.
"This is the basis upon which we will engage the market. This is the framework that we anticipate will make all the difference to businesses looking to leverage off the wave of change heading this way," Van Tonder said.
Akesh Lalla, Business Productivity Sales Manager at Microsoft South Africa, agreed that the business market is in turmoil, but emphasised the challenges and opportunities that do exist.
"There is a war for talent and competitors are fighting for specific individuals. In order to remain competitive, businesses need to embrace an 'elastic organisation', one that is able to react to market dynamics and the needs of customers, but at the same time embrace different work styles," said Lalla.
