SA's largest cellular operator has appointed Ivan Dittrich as CFO to take over from outgoing financial head Rob Shuter.
Shuter will become CEO of Vodafone Netherlands from March 2012 and Dittrich will join the group around July after leaving his current position as CFO of Datatec, after results are published.
Dittrich, who is a CA (SA), has been CFO of Datatec since May 2008 and executive director on its board since March 2008. He held a number of senior executive positions for the past 12 years at Datatec, including that of group corporate director, corporate finance manager and company secretary.
Dittrich managed Datatec's dual listing in London in 2006. Before joining Datatec, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and Deloitte in SA.
Vodacom chairman Peter Moyo said he welcomed the appointment and was looking forward to Dittrich's contribution on the board.
Meanwhile, Datatec has announced that Rob Evans will become CFO from June. Evans has held a range of international operational and financial roles, both within the group and in a number of other international companies.
Evans then became COO of Westcon AIME. Since 2010, he has been head of the Consulting Services division and was recently appointed chairman of Analysys Mason. He is on several of the group's subsidiary boards.
Datatec CEO Jens Montanana said he was “delighted” to welcome Evans. “He has very strong strategic and operational credentials, having worked extensively around the world and held a wide range of financial, operational and M&A roles both within Datatec and other organisations internationally.”
Montanana thanked Dittrich and wished him well.
