African Achievers finalists named

Forge Ahead BMI-T has announced a field of strong contenders for the African Achievers 2002 Awards. The adjudication process has been completed and finalists in the major categories have been notified.

Forge Ahead BMI-T says there was a good response to the call for nominations, resulting in many new nominees and a good field of finalists. Particularly encouraging was the increase in the number of nominees for the women in ICT award, it says.

The 2002 awards will be presented at Gallagher Estate on 12 October, at an event expected to attract over 1 500 industry-leaders. The ceremony will also see the launch of African Achievers, a biannual magazine showcasing the awards and the winners.

The African Achievers 2002 Awards are organised in partnership with the Department of Communications, with Sita as a co-partner, Oracle as lead sponsor and Choice Technologies and 3Com Corporation as co-sponsors. ITWeb is the online media partner of the Awards.
