It is still too early to make an announcement about Dali Mpofu`s successor, says the Allied Electronics Corporation (Altron).
Mpofu, Altron group executive director for corporate affairs, was named as the new SABC CEO last week.
Altron says in line with its policies, Mpofu`s successor will also be a senior black economic empowerment (BEE) appointment.
In a statement to ITWeb, the group says further announcements will be issued "as and when necessary".
Altron says Mpofu joined the group five years ago as a senior executive responsible for corporate affairs, and as an advocate with extensive legal experience, he has been instrumental and at the forefront of the group`s BEE initiatives.
The group says Mpofu spearheaded Altron Transformation Vision 2010, which represents its internal charter for ensuring the group meets industry standards and requirements from a BEE perspective.
"We thank Dali for his contribution to the Altron group and are proud that he will continue to serve SA in his new capacity as CEO at the SABC," says Altron.
Mpofu said earlier this week that he would consult with communications minister Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri before making any further comments regarding his new appointment.
