The second ITWeb Security Summit opens its doors to delegates next week (22 to 25 May). It promises to be the biggest security showcase and gathering of information security professionals in the country, with an exciting line-up of international and local speakers, and close to 400 delegates expected.
"While addressing all the components that make up the enterprise security framework, the main focus of the ITWeb Security Summit this year will be on understanding the nature of the threat to business, managing business risk and ensuring appropriate governance is in place to protect information - the most valuable asset of any organisation - and privacy," says Jovan Regasek, CEO of ITWeb.
Prominent technologist and author Bruce Schneier will deliver the opening keynote address.
Schneier, CTO for BT Counterpane Internet Security, has been described by The Economist as a "security guru", and is best known as a security critic and commentator. He is also the author of eight books, including the bestsellers "Beyond Fear: Thinking Sensibly about Security in an Uncertain World", "Secrets and Lies" and "Applied Cryptography".

His keynote address covers "The Economics of Information Security: Ten trends you should know about". The presentation will focus on three crucial issues: Do we spend enough on keeping hackers out of our computer systems? Do we spend too much? Are we spending our security budgets on the right things?
He will be joined by the likes of Toby Stevens, director of UK's Enterprise Privacy Group, Simon Perry, VP and security strategist at CA International and Dr Naveed Moeed of EMC's security division, RSA.
