SAP has enhanced its SAP BusinessObjects Data Services and SAP BusinessObjects Data Federator, both part of the SAP BusinessObjects information management platform, and integrated them with SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse, states eWeek.

The upgrade expands support for SAP customers, allowing them to "extract, profile, cleanse and integrate data from non-SAP sources" and feed it into SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse, the company said.

This, in turn, results in reliable data being fed downstream to business intelligence (BI), customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning and supply chain management applications.

LinkedIn has selected MicroStrategy, a worldwide provider of BI software, for reporting and analytics, says eBizQ.

The site is the world's largest professional network with more than 41 million members.

"LinkedIn is an extremely popular business networking site, and we are pleased to support its BI deployment," said Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy's COO.

AsiaInfo Holdings, a China-based telecom software solutions provider, will upgrade the operational support systems of China Mobile's branches in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Zhejiang Province, reports Trading Markets.

Zhang Zhenqing, president of AsiaInfo, said that intensive competition has brought up IT expenditure, forcing telecom operators to build and improve IT infrastructure facilities.

Corporate clients and data service have become focuses of the competition.
