The electronics giant has confirmed the appointment of Axiz as the latest distributor of its LCD monitor range.
Last week, ITWeb revealed distributor Tarsus would lose out on about 3 000 units per month worth of Samsung display products and had signed up competitor LG to make up for the loss in revenue.
At the time, Samsung did not want to divulge which company had been appointed as its third distributor, but did say it was looking at restructuring its channel model.
At the time, Dennis Brett, business manager for IT products at Samsung, said the company felt is was "necessary to get greater coverage of [its] products to the reseller channel".
This morning, Brett said "Axiz's outstanding reputation is what led us to setting up a relationship with them a few months ago".
Axiz has distributed Samsung's hard disk drive and optical disk drive ranges for the past five months.
He adds that the trust that has been established is what led to the expansion of the business to monitors.
"We believe Samsung's market share will continue to grow while providing high-level expertise to our clients across the country," he adds.
Axiz components platform leader Cobus de Beer welcomed the agreement, saying it would enable the company to offer a comprehensive Samsung products range.
