Acer expands programme
PC vendor Acer America has introduced a new incentive-based value-added reseller (VAR) partner programme designed to support a wide array of third-party relationships with independent hardware vendors and system integrators, says eChannelLine.
"[Several years ago,] Acer had gotten away from doing any kind of rebates," said Rich Black, director of channel marketing with Acer America. "VARs wanted to start being incentivised to sell products. So we wanted to do a simple programme to make it as easy as possible for these guys to receive incentives across products that have been developed for their market."
Beginning in June, Acer-approved VARs that have signed up for Acer's summer sales extravaganza will receive 3% backend rebates on TravelMate and Extensa notebook PCs, 4% on selected desktop PCs, and 2% on all B Series and 26-inch X Series LCDs.
Ingram Micro named top distributor
Ingram Micro was named the 2007 Pro AV Distributor of the Year by Samsung Electronics America for the second year in a row, says DigitalSignageToday.com.
According to Samsung's VP of commercial sales and marketing, Christopher Franey, Ingram Micro was awarded the 2007 Pro AV Distributor of the Year for its ongoing investment in digital signage and putting in place programmes and offerings that more than doubled its year-over-year sales revenues with Samsung.
Franey also cited Ingram Micro's partner enablement resources including its dedicated Digital Signage Division and bi-coastal Solution Centers, which hosted several training events and boot camps for more than 700 existing and potential Samsung partners throughout 2007.
InfoVista reveals initiative
InfoVista has introduced a formal value-added reseller (VAR) programme initiative for its 5View product suite, a line of network appliances for application performance monitoring and analysis, says IT Reseller Online.
InfoVista established its 5View partner programme to provide VARs with best-in-class solutions and establish new sales channels for the 5View product suite.
Since initiating the programme, InfoVista has generated significant interest from resellers in various business sectors and made inroads into numerous geographic regions, including the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific.
