Sun`s Red Hat

Sun`s Linux distribution went on show yesterday and is essentially the Red Hat Advanced Server, possibly disappointing users who were anticipating some sort of breakthrough. The new distribution is called Sun Linux 5.0 and with very little exception is the same as Red Hat 7.2. In fact, details released on the Web list just three differences between the two , including different RPM package versions. Built on a 2.4 kernel, the package includes all the standard applications as well as a range of tools from Sun, including Sun One active server pages, Java 2 software development kit and the Sun Grid engine.
