This week saw NetActive exceed the 35 000 subscriber mark with over 3000 new subscribers joining NetActive on a monthly basis. Based on Media Africa`s 3rd South African Internet services industry survey 1999, which is quoted as saying "for the first time in five years the growth of Internet usage in South Africa is slowing down significantly", NetActive has experienced ever increasing growth in the same period.
"Every month we`re exceeding our projected growth, which has been achieved at a remarkably low acquisition cost per subscriber in comparison to the industry average cost per subscriber." Says Jonathan Hackner, Dial-up and e-commerce Director at NetActive.
NetActive has upgraded its infrastructure to a value of R3 million to accommodate the rapidly growing subscriber base. The upgrades involve NetActive`s heavy investment in internal IT systems - including the Lucent PM4 (remote access server) for the biggest and fastest growing Johannesburg POP (point-of-presence), to ensure that there are no engaged signals when subscribers try to connect to the Net, as well as the new SUN based centralised server capable of handling in excess of 100 000 users.
The upgrades also include the formation of an integrated, centralised helpdesk service which has the sole purpose of `making it easy for clients to do business with NetActive`. The sophisticated call centre solution will ensure that the new help desk will provide high end service and support for clients.
Committed to effective and efficient service, NetActive`s growing client base indicates that the company is on target with its sales and service to clients.
After recent consolidation the company is totally geared towards servicing the Internet and Networking needs of both consumers and the SME market.
