Day 12 for Dotcoza and not a single pizza box in sight. Andersen Consulting`s e-commerce research guinea pig says he has managed to purchase clothes, and yes, the underwear predicament has been solved.
Traffic to the site has been fantastic, says Dotcoza, especially when he has participated on radio and TV shows. Rumours that the Dotcoza site had been hacked on the same night as the Carte Blanche transmission amounted to nothing more than the firewalls on the site reacting to a visitor overload.
Andersen Consulting has implemented stringent precautions to ensure the site could not be crashed, and firewalls have been set to admit in the region of 350 concurrent visitors. This number was exceeded on the Sunday night that Dotcoza was interviewed on M-Net`s Carte Blanche programme.
Meanwhile, Dotcoza is feeding and clothing himself through Megashopper and other SA sites, but when asked about fast foods, he responded with a sigh, saying that he hasn`t found one fast food site that will deliver a pizza or burger to the cyberhouse.
Entertainment seems to have been taken care of as Dotcoza has bought himself a DSTV decoder through aucor.co.za. He also visits gaming sites and logs in to retrieve live updates from sporting sites.
Admitting to being a complete "media junkie", Dotcoza visits sites such as CNN.com and other international news sites regularly to keep informed.
This week, Dotcoza will examine the world of telecommunications and will attempt to order a Nokia 7110 online to test Wireless Application Protocol sites and technology.
On the domestic front, Dotcoza has chosen a name for his rather large bulldog. Dogcoza, aka Harry, seems to be satisfied with his master`s capabilities on the Net, and is looking as happy and well fed as ever.
