The front page of Nu Metro's online cinema booking and information Web site was hacked by a Muslim activist on Friday.
At around noon, visitors to the site were greeted with the message: "You were hacked by Mur@t. No war forever Peace. !!!We are the guards of Turks and Muslims!!!"
The defacement referred visitors to Web site www.cyber-sabotage.org. However, security specialists recommend consumers do not visit the site as it may contain malware.
A few minutes later, the Web site went down and was replaced with a message from Nu Metro, saying: "We are currently experiencing problems on the Nu Metro Web site. We will be back up and running shortly."
ITWeb was unable to establish the extent of the security breach as Nu Metro's IT department was unavailable for comment this morning.
