Innovation will not stop, said Stafford Masie, MD of Google SA, at the ITWeb/Xiotech Intelligent Storage Forum 2008.

Masie believes innovations in the way media is generated will eventually have an impact on the internal organisation of companies.

"How the is changing is how the enterprise is changing. Over the years, the Internet has become more visual and currently it is moving in the direction of multimedia. All these changes we see happening outside the enterprise, this innovation outside, will soon be adopted within the enterprise," he said.

The popularity of You Tube and Google further illustrate that this innovation will be driven by the end-user, Maisie said. "Twelve percent of global Internet traffic is on You Tube, 13 hours of video is downloaded on You Tube every minute of every day and Google receives between 20 and 80 million queries per second. So every three hours, Google receives 38 million queries."

As people engage more in video campaigns and brand emersion through their phones, the enterprise will use technology to enhance their brand and engage consumers, he said.

"People are storing more of themselves on devices and networks. And as online consumption has surpassed television consumption, we will see no end to innovation," concluded Masie.
