Welcome to the fifth annual ITWeb Security Summit CISO Survey!

Run in partnership with ITWeb Brainstorm and MTN Business, this vital local research explores the growing importance and complexity of the CISO role.

Based on input from South Africa’s public and private sector cyber security leaders, the survey serves as a unique local benchmark, tracking the challenges and strategic priorities shaping the cyber security landscape — from investment focus and executive relationships to regulatory pressure, skills retention, and AI’s impact on cyber security posture. 

We invite you to participate in the 2026 edition of the CISO Survey. By taking part, you will:

• Contribute to the ITWeb Brainstorm CISO Report and be among the first to see the findings, which will be revealed at the exclusive CISO Banquet on 25 June 2026 in Johannesburg.

This year we are adding to our celebration and recognition of the CISO by launching the annual Brainstorm CISO awards, which will coincide with the Brainstorm CISO banquet. Nominations are open until 8am on Monday, 8 June 2026.
