3Com, a provider of converged voice and networking solutions for enterprises, has appointed Johnathene Beyers as country GM for its southern African operation.

Beyers previously headed up IBM SA`s PC division and her background is linked to skills development and personal empowerment in the township environments that characterised SA in the 1980s.

She has been involved in the local ICT industry, at different levels, over the past 15 years.

Beyers says she is enthusiastic about meeting the challenges posed by SA`s rapidly changing business landscape.

"My philosophy is simple. It is founded on good corporate governance, business integrity and the establishment of sound business relationships with appropriate partners designed to maintain growth and sustain profitability."

She says a key objective will be to accurately position 3Com within the local marketplace to reflect its leadership role in enterprise and voice networking.

"3Com is one of only a few vendors that can deliver feature-rich, high-performance, end-to-end solutions that support voice and applications to the large, medium and small enterprise markets in SA.

"3Com is focused on reducing complexity by making management and configuration of data networking much easier."

Beyers notes that she will use her years of marketing experience through channel structures in SA to assist 3Com`s reseller partners.

"3Com`s established global brand reputation and broad line of enterprise networking equipment provide solid ground for resellers to be successful with customers demanding improved price/performance," she adds. "3Com provides channel partners with many of the best options for increasing revenue and market share through broader, more competitive offerings."
